My Etsy

Don't know if anyone's noticed, but I posted my Etsy link on the sidebar. Anyway, I've meant write on here more often than I have been, but I've been so busy finally setting up my shop that I really haven't had time. I hope you will take the time to check it out. It's not just me on there, The Peon (more on that later) has agreed to add a few things! So I wanted to post some pictures of Flower Monkey I took posing with my purses. I had these on there originally, but after reading many posts and blogs, decided they weren't good enough. The lighting wasn't very good and other various and sundry details that I won't bore you with. So I retook them, but didn't have the time to get Flower to pose with them again. Maybe next time!

I had no idea when I started how much work it would take! Etsy is so much larger than I could ever have imagined. I've already had a sale, but I think that was more or less by accident. I've been so busy trying to figure out superior shop policies and other such things. I think I finally have everything sorted out and now we're ready to rock and roll! :D

And just in time, my house has been a little neglected and Flower's room... umm... about 3 feet deep? LOL She is going through this phase where she has to wear everything in her dresser because she's finally figured out how to open it herself! She also got it into her head that she has to change her undies every time she goes potty... I don't think I would have been able to keep up anyway! In fact, I'm thinking of rearranging her room and turning the dresser to face the wall! *sigh*

Seaweed Monkey is sitting up by herself now! :) She just got real good at on Friday. She's so proud of herself, you can tell. She just grins. Of course, when doesn't she?! Lately, though, has been kinda tough. We think she's teething, poor thing. :( She's had nosebleeds, unusual since, while not exactly humid here, the snow is melting (finally!) and has been fairly humid. For here that is.

Speaking of snow melting, we're down to about a foot on the level. Maybe less now. Kinda hard to tell since the banks from snowblowing are still about 1 1/2 feet high. But there are bare patches of ground! Such as where the sewer line is... :P And where King Monkey has plowed and snowblowed. We're getting there! The animals are shedding, which is a very good sign! We might actually have a growing season this year. Yay! All I got last year were peas, lettuce, potatoes, and a few carrots. Not much! My flowers weren't too impressive either! I'm so excited to get out there and get planting, but that's still a few months off yet... *sigh* Will have to start some things inside, I guess.

Happy spring everyone and visit our store when you get a chance!

Sister My Sister

Well, here's the promised photos. I just love their smiles! The closest I came to having a sister growing up was my best friend. I think about those days often. We used to talk on the phone every night! I'm not sure now what we talked about, but we tied up that phone line for hours!! Now, we both have kids and we're lucky to talk once a month.

Anyway, I was thinking about these girls of mine and how they're both lucky and cursed. I can imagine it now... "Hey, those are my shoes!" "That's my sweater!" But also the joy and wonder of sharing about a new crush or dreams for after high school. I can't say that I missed out on that completely. That's why I talked to my bff every night for several hours! Dissecting and reconstructing conversations. Sharing our dreams with one another. I may not have had a blood sister growing up, but I had (and still have!) a sister of the heart. A sister is someone who cares. She doesn't have to be related to be a sister. So really, I have a ton of sisters!

So here's a little poem for all my sisters. Very appropriate because it mentions chocolate and fudge! :D

A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.

A friend who helps you through difficult times,
Her comforting words are worth much more than dimes.
A partner who fills your life with laughs and smile,
These memories last for miles and miles.

When she is by your side, the world is filled with life,
When she is not around, your days are full of strife.
A sister is a blessing, who fills your heart with love,
She flies with you in life with the beauty of a dove.

A companion to whom you can express your feelings,
She doesn’t let you get bored at family dealings.
Whether you are having your ups or downs,
She always helps you with a smile and never frowns.

With a sister you cannot have a grudge,
She is as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister is not just a trend,
It is knowing you can always turn to her, your best friend.

Here We Go!

So I thought I would join this world wide web so that those of you who are far away may see our monkey girls more frequently! Right now it is nap time, but hopefully I will be adding pictures and more interesting things in the future! :) Just one little funny: Flower Monkey put a yellow cloth on her head and says to me, "I'm Larken!" Then she runs over to Seaweed Monkey and says, "Hi, Baby Wynn!" (Larken and Wynn are her cousins.) Apparently she thought Larken was blonder than herself. Anyway, it was pretty cute! :)
